Introducing "The Harters"
Posted by BK at 12:10 PM Labels: The Harters 0 comments
The Harters are a country music trio based in Arizona. Their upcoming debut album is being recorded with producer Keith Stegall. The album's first single, "Jenny", has been released for free via the band's website.
The three siblings, two brothers and one sister, who comprise The Harters, were involved in various other musical endeavors before forming the band together. Michael had moved to Nashville to become a country songwriter/performer, recording one album for Broken Bow Records as J. Michael Harter. Scott went to school in San Diego where he played in a number of alternative rock bands. Leslie remained in Arizona where she decided at age 18 that she was going to pursue a career in music. She did not yet know how to play guitar so she borrowed her grandfather's and began learning the instrument quickly, writing her first song that same day. The Harter siblings, who had always enjoyed singing around a campfire, harmonizing with each other, did not begin playing as a band for some time.
A buzz began surrounding The Harters due to their performance, recording, and tracking session videos quickly garnering thousands of views on YouTube and being featured on various sites online. This buzz caught the attention of producer Keith Stegall (production credits include over 70 million albums sold, including artists such as Alan Jackson and Zac Brown Band), who decided to make The Harters' debut album his next project. The Harters also caught the attention of Adam Gregory, with whom they collaborated when the two acts shared the stage for a children's charity show. The band was subsequently asked to open a series of shows for Josh Turner. The Harters were also featured in People.com's July 2009 Photo Special.
To date, The Harters have made two songs from their upcoming debut album available for free download. The songs have received critical praise. One critic "in total awe" of the band began their review with "you gotta listen to the songs...they're so, so great." Another raved '“Jenny” found it’s way to the top of my playlist and hasn’t moved since I first heard it...I absolutely could not get out of my head!'

The Band Perry: Introduction [New Artist]
Posted by AelitaSugarland at 9:43 PM Labels: Hip to My Heart, M4A, New Artist, Singles, The Band Perry 0 comments
[The Band Perry]
Hailing from Mobile, Alabama, siblings Kimberly, Reid and Neil Perry grew up listening to and playing music. Kimberly had her first band at age 15, her brothers, then only 10 and 8, helped out as 'roadies'. The boys started their own band eventually but the family kept playing together at home: “I remember sitting out on our front porch singing old Hank Williams and Bobbie Gentry songs in three-part harmony, hoping to channel the spirits of old country through musical séance while fighting off the southern Alabama mosquitoes,” says Kimberly. “We always knew we’d take the stage together - all we were waiting on was the right moment.”
When Kimberly was invited to join the 'New Faces of Country Tour' in 2005 both she and her brothers were without bands. They decided to join forces on the tour and The Band Perry was born. They played countless shows, developing their music together, and caught the attention of Scott Borchetta of Big machine Records and Jimmy Harnen, President of Republic Nashville. Earlier this year the band signed with Republic Nashville, which is co-owned by Big Machine and Universal Republic.
The Band Perry's debut single, 'Hip to my Heart' is at radio now and though at first listen it seems like just a cute song about young love, it already showcases the band's musical talents and Kimberly's stellar vocals.

Posted by beau21 at 9:14 AM Labels: Clay Walker, Holiday, M4A, Singles 0 comments
As the holiday season nears, more and more artists have been (and will continue to be) releasing singles and albums in the holiday spirit.
Just released to iTunes is a fresh holiday track from Clay Walker titled "All Wrapped Up In You".
Similar to the story of an "All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Mariah Carey, Walker's "All Wrapped Up In You" is a slow paced single singing about how he "don't need ribbons or bows.. your two arms will do" and how "there's a magic that lights up the room, when I'm all wrapped up in you."
Anyways, hope you enjoy it!

In a press statement, Lance said:
“I’ll continue to pursue a place in front of a mic or camera, but it will be under a different set of lights.” Smith continues, “Once upon a time, before my decade long stint as a host, I was an actor and it’s time to wear that hat once again. I will forever be grateful for every chance and opportunity given to me by CMT and Country Music. There’s not a better fan base in the world. But most of all I will miss the crews—my friends behind the scenes. It’s the show behind the curtain that I was most fortunate to see.”

Granger Smith - Don't Listen To The Radio [Album]
Posted by beau21 at 4:46 PM Labels: Albums, Granger Smith, M4A, Red Dirt Country 5 comments
Continuing to try and broaden everyone's musical horizons, (especially in this slow time of album releases), I bring you Granger Smith.
Now I have to admit that as of a week ago I had never heard of Granger Smith but he's immediately become one of my favorite new artists and 'Don't Listen To The Radio' is absolutely a solid outing from start to finish.. He also wrote or co-wrote every song on the album which always gets bonus points from me.
'Don't Listen To The Rado' is Granger's sixth studio album and his single 'Gypsy Rain' has been climbing Red Dirt Country music charts and I really think it's just the tip of this album's iceberg.
'Don't Listen To The Radio' is a great start to the album as the title track as an upbeat reminiscing song about a love lost and not listening to the radio cause "you're bound to hear a love song reminding you she's gone"
'5 More Minutes' is a beautiful song with an even better message about slowing down and making sure all those who are closest to you know just how much they mean to you with just "5 more minutes"
'Cherry Lipstick' is a catchy tune (although the message is perhaps a bit common) about a love stuck guy who just wants to spend some time with his new girl and (obviously) "taste that cherry lipstick"
'Gypsy Rain' has been the most popular song off the album thus far as it currently sits at #12 on the Texas Music For The Country chart.. It's a catchy song that I've often found stuck in my head these past few days singin about a beautiful girl who's here one minute and gone the next... a 'gypsy rain'.
Anyways now that you've got a quick overview of some of my favorite songs, here's the whole tracklist:
1. Don't Listen To The Radio
2. Pacific
3. 5 More Minutes
4. Superstitious 17
5. Cherry Lipstick
6. I Almost Am
7. Turn It On
8. Dirty Dishes
9. Long Way Home
10. Gypsy Rain
11. November Never Came
12. This Little House
13. Unsent Letters
As always, let me know what you think if you like this type of music or if I'm just pissin' in the wind!
Hope you enjoy it!
